Intanto nei giorni scorsi, in occasione della conferenza dei donatori a Brussels, Amnesty International ha sollecitato il rafforzamento della Missione dell'Unione africana in Sudan (Amis), in modo che le sue truppe possano garantire un'effettiva protezione alla popolazione civile del Darfur. Nonostante la firma, a maggio, dell'Accordo di pace per il Darfur e la presenza, dal giugno 2004, dell'Amis, la crisi umanitaria nel Darfur resta catastrofica e gli abusi nei confronti della popolazione civile proseguono su scala massiccia.
