To accompany the production of The Overwhelming at the National Theatre in London, on 27 June she will discuss the work of the charity and the continuing effect of the atrocities.

Considerate le spiccate doti artistiche dei ragazzi dello slum, lo spettacolo offerto ai partecipanti è stato sicuramente di alto livello. Ogni esibizione è stata intervallata da un breve discorso sugli argomenti che stanno più a cuore: il trasferimento della discarica attualmente all’interno di Korogocho, il recupero strutturale dello ‘slum’, l’incidenza dell'Aids sulla gente del luogo. E oggi, Pasquetta, sarà inaugurata la ‘Napenda Kuishi home’, un centro costruito a Kibiko, una trentina di chilometri da Korogocho, destinato ad ospitare gli alcolisti e i bambini di strada della baraccopoli ormai usciti dall’incubo della dipendenza. “I nostri ex ragazzi di strada avranno una nuova casa, terreni agricoli da coltivare e bestiame da accudire: per chi ha sempre vissuto nello ‘slum’ e non ha mai visto né un vero prato né animali è davvero un ritorno alla vita” - ha commentato alla Misna padre Daniele Moschetti, missionario comboniano che in questi ‘slum’ della capitale keniana vive e lavora.
