28.08.2008 Sono diversi i Italia i progetti di eco-abitazioni. Inizia oggi fino al 31 agosto sul Monte Amiata (SI) la mostra, promossa da Banca Etica e da PAEA, della 'Casa EcoLogica', la più grande mostra itinerante a livello europeo su energie rinnovabili, risparmio energetico e idrico, bioedilizia, consumi domestici consapevoli e ambiente. L'intera struttura della mostra, che ricrea una abitazione, è dotata di sistemi energetici e idrici funzionanti, alimentati da energie rinnovabili. Va ricordata inoltre la 'Leaf House' presentata a fine giugno nelle Marche e la 'Smarthouse Mabo' battezzata a Poppi (Arezzo) lo scorso maggio. Intanto è in arrivo la 'casa intelligente' del progetto Neftih2 (New energy for tomorrow intelligent house), che annovera tra i propri partner anche l'Istituto di tecnologie avanzate per l'energia (Itae) del Cnr di Messina.

19.07.2008 Ogni giorno, più di 2,5 miliardi di persone soffrono della mancanza di servizi igienici adeguati e quasi 1,2 miliardi devono usare spazi aperti, la pratica più rischiosa dal punto di vista igienico-sanitario, secondo il rapporto presentato ieri dall'Unicef e l'Organizzazione mondiale della Sanità (Oms) nel quadro del programma congiunto di monitoraggio su forniture idriche e servizi igienici. Il rapporto viene presentato a metà 2008 nell'Anno internazionale per le condizioni igienico-sanitarie. "Ai ritmi attuali, il mondo mancherà l'obiettivo del millennio sull'accesso ai servizi igienici, con oltre 700 milioni di persone che vi resteranno escluse" - ha dichiarato Ann Veneman, Direttore generale dell'Unicef.

05.07.2008 Al via oggi e domani la VI° edizione di "Non scherzate col fuoco" la campagna nazionale di monitoraggio, prevenzione e informazione sugli incendi boschivi promossa da Legambiente e Dipartimento della Protezione Civile, col patrocinio del Corpo Forestale dello Stato in collaborazione con numerose associazioni. Iniziative in oltre 500 comuni italiani dove volontari e cittadini si rimboccheranno le maniche per eseguire vere e proprie opere di manutenzione dei boschi per prevenire i focolai scoprendo nel frattempo le incredibili bellezze del nostro patrimonio forestale. "Gli eventi disastrosi della scorsa estate in cui oltre 10mila incendi hanno distrutto 225 mila ettari di bosco, dimostrano come il fenomeno degli incendi boschivi rappresenta una vera e propria emergenza nazionale" - affermano i promotori.

17.04.2008 Civitas nel 2008 inaugura il suo passaggio da Evento a Progetto Culturale permanente, attraverso la diffusione sul territorio di attività culturali e di proposte che varcheranno le porte dello spazio fieristico di Padova e si estenderanno al di fuori della consolidata tre giorni di maggio. Il calendario di eventi culturali, incontri e convegni, articolato intorno alle tematiche di questa XIII edizione, si sposterà lungo l’intera penisola e per tutto l’anno. Il 2008 vedrà arricchirsi il modello del Circuito Civitas, precursore di questo progetto, con l’intento di utilizzare nuovi strumenti di comunicazione per un nuovo pubblico. It plans to build 380 more safe spaces in next few weeks to assist 20,000 child victims to help them recover from the calamity.
